Mentoring Scheme

The Careers and Employability service at CU Coventry is committed toworking closely with local organisations, to help build a strong workforce that isbeneficial to all employees and employers.

Currently, we are looking for employers who are willing to partake in our student mentoring scheme. Required as a mentor, you will advise students on how to make the best use of their talents and skills.

Mentors are those who lead by example and are there to encourage mentees in their career development. Mentoring is more than answering occasional questions or providing ad hoc help.

Mentoring is about developing an ongoing relationship of learning, dialogue, and challenge.

What’s Involved

Mentors should aim to meet withtheir mentee at least four times per academic year. Your mentee will be an undergraduate student ranging from HNC to their penultimate year students. As a mentor, you may also be able to gain CPD points. Mentoring can also form part of a company’s Corporate Social Responsibility strategy.
